Q&As

Can you give me some background on the Ethane Pipeline Income Fund?

The Fund has been operating since 2006 (previously Mariner Pipeline Income Fund).

In December 2008, APA Ethane took on the role of responsible entity of the two trusts that comprise the Fund from Mariner Securities Limited, and with the retirement of Mariner Securities from that role, the Fund changed its name to Ethane Pipeline Income Fund.

The Fund holds a single asset, the Ethane Pipeline, which transports ethane from the production fields in Moomba, South Australia, to Botany in Sydney.

In 1996, the pipeline was built specifically to transport ethane to one customer in Botany, and has been in operation for these past 12 years.

Ethane is used as feedstock for a chemical production process undertaken by Qenos at its Botany facility.  Qenos has a long term contract until 2030 for the service of delivering ethane.

What is the role of APA Ethane Limited (the Responsible Entity)?

APA Ethane Limited is the responsible entity for the Ethane Pipeline Income Trust and the Ethane Pipeline Income Financing Trust that comprise the Fund.  It is a public company with an Australian financial services licence (AFSL) and the expertise, capacity and experience to operate the fund.

How will the fund be run?

Will there be changes to the way the fund is run?

APA Ethane has no current intention to do anything differently in respect of the operations of the fund or the ethane pipeline.  APA Ethane does not intend that the Fund be a vehicle for assets other than the ethane pipeline.
